AGRADECIMIENTOS DE LA CORPORACI\u00d3N NUEVO ARCO IRIS FRENTE A LAS CARTAS RECIBIDAS<\/strong><\/p>\n Hemos recibido numerosas cartas de apoyo escritas directamente a nosotros o copias de las cartas enviadas a los funcionarios del gobierno en respuesta a las amenazas de muerte recibidas por la Corporaci\u00f3n Nuevo Arco Iris el 22 de octubre de 2014.Estamos sinceramente agradecidos al ver el apoyo y la solidaridad no s\u00f3lo de organizaciones internacionales, sino de personas a trav\u00e9s del mundo preocupadas por la seguridad y el trabajo que los defensores de derechos humanos llevan a cabo en Colombia. Esas cartas exigen a dichos funcionarios \u00a0el cumplimiento de sus obligaciones en materia de protecci\u00f3n al activismo de derechos humanos,as\u00ed como romper cualquier lazo que a\u00fan pueda existir con fuerzas paramilitares.<\/p>\n Hasta ahora, son 113 las cartas recibidas de ciudadanos de diferentes partes del mundo. Es alentador ver que estas cuestiones son de largo alcance y que no estamos solos frente a las amenazas. Aunque los problemas de seguridad a\u00fan no han sido resueltos estamos haciendo todo lo posible para continuar con nuestro trabajo e investigaciones y siempre es alentador saber que contamos con el apoyo de otros. Esta situaci\u00f3n, sin embargo, no es algo que se puede resolver de manera r\u00e1pida y exige un esfuerzo constante y comprometido de todos los interesados, el apoyo de la comunidad internacional y organizaciones no gubernamentales como Amnist\u00eda Internacional para que esta situaci\u00f3n sea conocida en el mundo.<\/p>\n Tengan la seguridad que continuaremos trabajando con dedicaci\u00f3n continua para contribuir a la justicia, la paz y la democracia.<\/p>\n Corporaci\u00f3n Nuevo Arco Iris<\/p>\n 17 de diciembre de 2014<\/p>\n We have received 113 letters of Solidarity in response to the threats addressed to us<\/p>\n ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND THANKS FOR THE LETTERS RECEIVED BY LA CORPORACI\u00d3N NUEVO ARCO IRIS<\/strong><\/p>\n Over the past month we have received numerous letters of support made out directly to us or copies of letters sent to government officialsin response to the death threats received by the \u201cCorporaci\u00f3n Nuevo Arco Iris\u201d on October 22, 2014. We are sincerely grateful to see the support not only of international organisations but of individuals throughout the world, expressing their concern for the safety of human rights defenders in the country as well as urging the Colombian government to take definitive steps towards breaking any still existing links between them and paramilitary groups in the country.<\/em><\/p>\n To date, 78 of these letters have been from concerned citizens throughout the world. It is encouraging to see that these issues are far reaching and that we are not alone in facing them.
